District heating substation maintenance
The substation connects a building or block to the primary heat network. If it goes down, it is not one home without heat but the whole complex.
- 24 hours a day
- Fault response, including when the whole complex goes down
- Condition assessment
- Replacement advice you can plan and budget with
- Primary and secondary
- We know both sides of the substation
What we do for your substations
- Periodic maintenance on the exchanger, pumps, valves and controls
- Condition assessment with replacement advice, so you can plan and budget
- Fault response, reachable 24 hours a day
- Maintenance on subsystems within the communal installation
- Work scheduled outside the heating season wherever possible
- Reporting per substation, in your own system if you prefer
Replacements you can see coming
An exchanger or a pump does not fail from one moment to the next. There is usually a year between the first sign and the actual failure. That year is exactly what you need in order to budget for it rather than having to deal with it.
That is why we establish the condition of the installation at every visit and tell you what is coming. A replacement that sits in the budget is an investment. The same replacement on a Saturday in January is an emergency at an emergency rate.
When the substation stops, it counts per connection
With a heat interface unit a fault usually affects one household. With a substation it affects the whole complex at once, and the duty to supply keeps running per consumer. A hundred homes behind a stopped substation is the same interruption a hundred times over.
Our call-out service is therefore reachable 24 hours a day for substations too, and for every report we log when it came in, what was done and when supply was running again.
Why SVS
Communal heating and cooling is the only trade we are in. We know the primary network and the secondary circuit alike, so we quickly see whether a complaint inside a home originates in the substation, or the other way round. That saves searching, and it saves arguing about whose link in the chain it is.
Our patch runs from The Hague and Rotterdam through to Eindhoven and its surroundings. Our base is Houten. Almost every location in that area is around an hour's drive away, so an engineer can be there quickly even for a fault.
Wondering what this means for your installations?
Tell us what is going on. We will think it through with you, and say so honestly if something is not a fit for us.
